Cruz del Cóndor Walk

Trail description

A 12.6 km walk with about 670 m of climbing along the south side of the Colca Canyon, from the Achachihua viewpoint west of Cabanaconde, through Cabanaconde and past the Tapay viewpoint, to the Cruz del Cóndor lookout at about 3,775 m. The canyon of the Colca River is about 3,270 m deep and 70 km long, one of the deepest in the world. Andean condors, with wingspans of 2.1-2.7 m, fly past its walls at close range, and Cruz del Cóndor is a popular stop to watch them.
