Trail description
A short 0.8 km climb of about 25 m from central Cajamarca up Jirón Dos de Mayo to the top of Cerro Santa Apolonia and the carved stone known as the Silla del Inca. The hill rises two and a half blocks south-west of the Plaza de Armas and was once called Rumi Tiana, 'stone seat'. People of the Chavín culture reshaped its summit around 1200 BC, building platforms and underground structures used as tombs for important people.
