Trail description
A flat 0.8 km walk through Sortland in Vesteralen, the 'blue town', where since an art project begun in 1998 dozens of buildings have been painted in shades of blue, some inscribed with lines of poetry. The idea came from the artist Bjorn Elvenes, with support from the writer Lars Saabye Christensen. The Sortland bridge of 1975 links the islands of Langoya and Hinnoya, and the Hurtigruten calls here.
