Trail description

The marked route from the DNT lodge Snøheim to Stortoppen (2286 m), the main summit of Snøhetta and the highest point in Norway outside Jotunheimen. It crosses the Stridåi footbridge, follows an old military tractor road to the ruin of Gamle Reinheim, then climbs the east ridge, partly over snowfields, to the top; UT.no gives about 3.5 hours up and 2.5 down. Private cars cannot drive to Snøheim: a summer shuttle bus runs from Hjerkinn.
