Mehammarsåto from Heio

Trail description

Mehammarsåto (749 m), the highest point on Stord, from the car park at Heio. The route climbs Sherpa steps and Fossabrekko to Kvelve, passes Martebråtet and drops into Store Tjødnadalen before the signed climb north to the summit, with views to Tysnes, the Kvinnherad mountains and, on clear days, Folgefonna. UT.no gives about 13 km and 5 hours return by the same way.
