Flørlitrappene and Rallarstien Loop

Trail description

Loop from the quay at Flørli on the Lysefjord, a hamlet with no road connection that is reached by boat. The route climbs the 4444 steps of Flørlitrappene up the mountainside, about 740 m of ascent, crosses the dam at the top and returns on Rallarstien, a path built over 100 years ago for the dam construction, past Flørlistølen; UT.no gives about 5 km and 3.5 hours without breaks. Walking down the steps is not recommended, and the stairs must not be used in winter because of avalanche risk.
