Baroniet Rosendal

Trail description

A 1.4 km walk from the village of Rosendal in Kvinnherad to the Barony Rosendal, the manor house and its gardens. Ludvig Rosenkrantz built the house in 1661 to 1665 on the Hatteberg farm, a wedding gift after his marriage to the heiress Karen Mowatt. In 1678 King Christian V made the estate a barony, the only one in Norway, and a romantic garden was laid out around it in about 1850.
