Trail description
The classic walk down Aurlandsdalen, the old trade route between eastern and western Norway, from Østerbø to Vassbygdi above the Aurlandsfjord. The path follows the river past waterfalls, abandoned mountain farms and the narrow gorge below Sinjarheim, with long stretches on rock ledges. It is a long day mostly downhill; a bus runs between Vassbygdi and Østerbø in summer.
