Åkvikfjellet

Trail description

Åkvikfjellet (293 m) is a low, easy mountain on the border between Dønna and Herøy with views to Træna, Lovund, Dønnamannen and the Seven Sisters. From the parking area by the Åkviksund bridge a gravel road leads 500 m to the foot of the mountain, then a steep section gains the long, gentler ridge to the top, about 2.4 km and 1 to 2 hours one way. Much of the route is on bare rock where the path can be hard to follow; keep to the north side of the mountain.
