Plat Peak from Popova Shapka

Trail description

Plat (2398 m) rises above the Leshnica valley on Shar Planina and is one of the easiest 2000 m+ summits to reach from the Popova Shapka ski centre at about 1700 m. The route mixes single-track through conifer forest with a wide jeep road up to a plateau at around 2050 m, then continues on a mostly marked path to the top. The full round trip is about 17 km with 940 m of ascent, 6 to 7 hours. From the summit you look down into the glacial valleys of Leshnica and across to the villages of Bozovce, Brodec and Veshala; June to September is the best season.
