Trail description

Pelister (2601 m) is the highest summit of the Baba range in Pelister National Park above Bitola, famous for its Molika pine forests and wide views over the Pelagonia plain, Lake Prespa and Galicica. This is the normal, non-technical route from the Kopanki mountain hut at about 1550 m, following the waymarked path signed for Pelister, the antenna and Golemo Ezero instead of the steep boulder ridge. It is a long day of roughly 12 km each way and over 1000 m of ascent, and the top section crosses rocky moraine ground. Start early and carry water; the rocky ridge route from Molika is a harder alternative.
