Nizhepole Pelister Walk

Trail description

The second marked route from Nižepole into Pelister National Park, starting at the Nižepole ski centre at about 1360 m. The trail follows the Sapundžica river valley through beech and spruce forest, crosses the Orlovi Bari area and climbs past Durmish Tap on the old French Road. Higher up the forest turns to molika pine, with views over Bitola and the Pelagonia plain. It ends at Golemo Ezero (2218 m), the larger of the two glacial lakes known as the Eyes of Pelister, next to the mountain hut. Allow about 4 hours up.
