Mount Korab from Strezimir

Trail description

Golem Korab (2764 m) is the highest summit of North Macedonia, on the border with Albania, and this is the standard ascent from Strezimir in Mavrovo National Park. The trail starts behind the border watchtower and climbs steadily through forest before opening into alpine terrain and a glacial valley. The route is well marked, and the final climb to the summit is straightforward and needs no special equipment, though snow patches can linger. The round trip is about 17 km with around 1300 m of ascent, roughly 7 hours.
