Kukulje Earth Pyramids and Bejaztepe Peak from Nov Istevnik

Trail description

Kukulje is a field of about 50 earth pyramids, some up to 15 m tall, carved by erosion into a slope above the village of Nov Istevnik near Delchevo. The route starts in the Balabanska neighbourhood of the village, passes the pyramids and continues on forest tracks to Bejaz Tepe (1,348 m) on Sredna mountain, with views over the Sredna, Obozna and Golak ranges. It is about 7 km one way with around 650 m of ascent; the local guide allows about 3.5 hours. The mapped track ends just below the top, so the final few minutes are cross-country.
