Kozjak Peak and Duova Cave from Pletvar

Trail description

Kozjak (1,745 m) on Babuna mountain rises above the Pletvar pass, which divides Babuna from Dren on the Prilep to Kavadarci road. The path climbs from the village of Pletvar (990 m) to Duova Cave, an 81 m limestone cave at about 1,670 m with the sacred Duova Voda spring, and then the short way to the summit. It is about 6 km one way with 820 m of ascent, 2.5 to 3 hours up, and almost all on footpath. The area is scattered with Roman-era archaeological sites.
