Trail description

Kitka (1,588 m) is the northeastern outlier of the Mokra massif and the closest proper mountain climb to Skopje, about 20 km from the centre by paved road via Drachevo. The path leaves Gorno Kolichani in front of the village shop and soon enters a dense oak and beech forest for about 2.5 km, then climbs past a turn-off for the Kitka mountain hut to the summit. It is about 8 km one way with roughly 950 m of ascent, 2.5 to 3.5 hours up; the start is marked but the markings fade higher up. From the ridge you look across to Karadzhica and Jakupica and down to the Markova and Kadina Reka valleys.
