Trail description

Chengino Kale (1,745 m) is a rounded summit of the Maleshevo Mountains on the Bulgarian border and the easternmost point of North Macedonia, above the springs of the Bregalnica. The walk starts at the Ravna Reka picnic area in the recreational area about 30 minutes from Pehchevo and follows forest roads and then a path along a river through beech and conifer woods to open summit meadows. It is about 8 km one way with 700 to 730 m of ascent and takes about 2.5 hours up. Near the top you pass an old border stone marked SFRJ, and the Pehchevo waterfalls are close to the start.
