La Flor Wildlife Refuge protects a sea turtle nesting beach south of San Juan del Sur. A walk along the coast and estuary allows for birdwatching and, during certain seasons, witnessing the arrival of Paslama turtles. It is a natural sanctuary of the South Pacific.
