Trail description

An 8.9 km loop with about 635 m of climbing from the Mount Robert Road car park near Saint Arnaud over Pourangahau / Mount Robert (1,421 m), in Nelson Lakes National Park. The loop climbs the Pinchgut Track, which zigzags steeply up to near the top of the mountain, follows a ridge to Bushline Hut and comes down on the gentler Paddy's Track. The track looks out over Lake Rotoiti and Saint Arnaud. Mount Robert was long part of John Kerr's Lake Station and was returned to the Crown after his death in 1898.
