Trail description
A short 1.3 km walk with about 60 m of climbing from Glenesk Road in Piha up the Kitekite Track to Kitekite Falls, on the Glen Esk Stream. The three-tiered falls drop 40 m, though from the lookout on the track they look closer to 80 m because of the cascades and pools above the final drop. The area was milled for kauri from 1910, and in 1911 Ebenezer Gibbons built the Glen Esk Dam at the top of the falls to flush kauri logs down to the Piha Mill.
