Trail description
From the end of Castle Rock Road off the 309 Road the track climbs through regenerating forest to Motutere / Castle Rock (525 m), a volcanic plug on the Coromandel Range with views to both coasts of the peninsula. The walk is 2.1 km out and back with about 160 m of climbing. The final section to the top is steep and rocky.
