Trail description
A 2.1 km walk with about 100 m of climbing from Muritai in Eastbourne on the Butterfly Creek Track and the Kowhai Street Track, reaching the Butterfly Creek picnic area in the bush above the town. Eastbourne (Ōkiwi) is a seaside suburb of Lower Hutt on the eastern shore of Wellington Harbour, directly across from the Miramar Peninsula. It is a popular day-trip destination by car from Petone or by ferry from central Wellington, and is named after Eastbourne in England, another seaside town known for day trips.
