Trail description
From the Alex Knob car park on the Franz Josef Glacier road the track leaves the Lake Wombat track and climbs about 1,100 m through rainforest and subalpine scrub to Alex Knob (1,303 m), with views down onto the Franz Josef Glacier and out to the Tasman Sea. It is a long, steady day; cloud often covers the top by the afternoon.
