Trail description
A 3.9 km loop with 28 m of climb on the Mantingerzand's red walking route, from the Mantingerzand P1 car park on the Mantingerdijk at Mantinge and entirely inside the reserve. It follows sandy paths across the heath and drift sand among the juniper scrub. Natuurmonumenten's Mantingerveld, north of Hoogeveen, is heath and drift sand with hundreds of juniper bushes and fens, grazed by cattle, sheep and Shetland ponies; dogs are allowed on a lead on the paths.
