Ighil M'Goun from Tarkeddit Refuge

Trail description

This is only the summit day of the M'Goun trek in the Central High Atlas, from the Tarkeddit refuge along the ridge to Ighil M'Goun, at 4,071 m the second highest peak of Morocco, and back to the refuge in ten to twelve hours. The full trek from the Ait Bouguemez valley usually takes three days: one day up to the refuge, this summit day, and one day back down to the valley. Snow lies on the ridge until May, and a local guide is customary.
