Vojnik Summit

Trail description

The classic ascent of Vojnik (1998 m), the highest point of the mountain range between Niksic, Savnik and Pluzine. The trail leaves the Niksic to Jasenovo Polje to Savnik road near the Vukotici houses, crosses meadows and beech and oak forest to the big Vioc Do clearing, then climbs open slopes to the summit. It is about 5 to 6 km one way with roughly 760 m of ascent; local guides give around 3.5 hours. From the top there are wide views over the Niksic plateau and the Durmitor and Maganik ranges. Best from June to October; you need your own transport from Niksic.
