Starac Summit from Čakor (Plav)

Trail description

Starac (2,352 m) sits on the high ridge between Montenegro and Kosovo above Plav. From the Cakor pass on the old mountain road from Murino, a marked path heads south along the grassy ridge past Bandera to the summit, following old cattle tracks and the historic caravan route between Plav and Pec. It is about 6.8 km one way with around 500 m of climbing, and it is the first part of the longer Cakor to Babino Polje ridge trail. The route runs along the state border, where there is no official crossing, so the trail's promoters say you must contact the border police before setting off. Walk it in summer or early autumn and bring a map or GPS.
