Trail description
A quiet trail on the Piva plateau above the Piva canyon links the hamlet of Stabna with the Stabansko lakes, two small mountain lakes set in forest and pasture. The route climbs past the summer huts of Stabanski Katun and goes on to Veliko Stabansko Jezero, with Malo Stabansko Jezero just below it. It is about 6.5 km one way, and the full loop back to Stabna comes to roughly 11 km or 5 hours of walking. Stabna lies about 10 km north-west of Pluzine and can be reached by car. The best months are June to October.
