Orahovstica Valley Loop from Virpazar (Babin Most, Dupilo, Opacac)

Trail description

A full-day loop from Virpazar into the quiet Orahovstica river valley in the Crmnica wine region above Skadar Lake. You cross the centuries-old stone bridges of Babin Most and Opacac, pass the half-rebuilt village of Dupilo and walk through shady riverside forest thick with moss and lichen, with natural pools for a swim along the way. The loop is about 17 to 18.5 km with roughly 450 m of climbing and takes around 7 hours; some fords and overgrown sections make it harder than the modest height gain suggests. It can be walked most of the year, with spring to autumn the best time. Start at Virpazar railway station, which has parking and trains to Bar and Podgorica, and the town is on the M-2 road between Podgorica and Petrovac.
