Trail description
A marked mountain trail climbs from the shore of Crno Jezero (Black Lake) through pine forest and past the summer shepherd huts of Katun Lokvice to Ledena Pecina, a cave at about 2,180 m where ice and snow stay all year. It is roughly 5.3 km one way from Black Lake (about 8 km from central Zabljak), and most people need 3 to 4 hours up with a similar time back. The last stretch is very steep and the way down into the cave is icy, so good boots are essential. Go between June and September, when the high paths are mostly free of snow. Start at the Black Lake car park just west of Zabljak, where a Durmitor National Park entry ticket may be checked.
