Komarnica Canyon Trail from Durmitor

Trail description

This long one-way route drops from the Sedlo road pass (1,907 m) on the southern side of Durmitor down steep slopes into the remote valley of the Komarnica river, ending around 980 m in Komarnica village inside the Dragišnica and Komarnica nature park. The way passes through wild, little visited country between tall limestone walls and narrow passages, with almost no climbing but a long, knee testing descent of over 900 m. It is about 14.6 km one way, a full day for most walkers, and best from June to early October. Sedlo is on the Žabljak to Trsa road south-west of Žabljak; as the route is one way, arrange a pick-up in Komarnica before you set off.
