Karaula Summit from Grebaje (Prokletije)

Trail description

A steady climb from the mountain hut in the Grebaje valley to Karaula (1915 m), a summit on the northern rim of the valley in Prokletije National Park, facing the Karanfili peaks across Grebaje. The path is about 4 km each way with roughly 740 m of ascent, so plan on half a day for the round trip. It is the route of the Zijova Staza, a traditional mass ascent that the Gusinje mountaineering club Ocnjak leads on the last Saturday of May, when over 200 walkers reach the top. Grebaje is a short drive up the valley road from Gusinje.
