Kameno to Za Vratlom Hut and Vilino Gumno (Orjen)

Trail description

The classic approach to Orjen from the Herceg Novi side, climbing from the village of Kameno past the former Borici motel to the Za Vratlom mountain hut (about 1160 m), the hub of the marked trail network in Orjen Nature Park. From the hut the route continues on the popular trail towards Subra as far as the Vilino Gumno viewpoint, with views that stretch along the Adriatic coast. Expect about 9 km one way and roughly 900 m of ascent through karst and beech forest; water is scarce on Orjen, so carry all you need. Kameno is a short drive up from Herceg Novi, and hikers can also start from the town itself for a much longer climb; spring and autumn are the best seasons.
