Otgontenger Holy Lake

Trail description

A walk towards Badar Khundaga, the holy lake beneath Otgontenger, the highest peak of the Khangai range, capped by a glacier and worshipped as a sacred mountain. The route starts at the Otgontenger state worship ovoo and follows the jeep track north-west to its end. The last 900 m to the lake and the Badarkhundaga hut on its shore are on foot across open ground, with no path. A pilgrimage walk in the western Khangai.
