Santuario El Rosario

Trail description

A 3.7 km walk of about 160 m of climbing at the El Rosario sanctuary, at about 3,000 m in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve on the border of Michoacan and the State of Mexico. The reserve holds most of the winter roosts of the eastern monarch butterfly population, which arrives in millions. The butterflies are present from October to March.
