Parque Nacional El Chico

Trail description

A 2.6 km climb of about 165 m from Mineral del Chico up through the forest to the edge of El Chico National Park at about 2,480 m. The park is one of the oldest protected areas in Mexico, dating from 1898 when President Porfirio Díaz created the Monte Vedado del Mineral del Chico to protect its conifer forests. Mineral del Chico, founded on mining, was named a Pueblo Mágico in 2011.
