Trail description
A short 0.5 km climb of about 30 m from the La Quemada site museum up to the Plaza Mayor of the ruins. La Quemada lies in Villanueva, about 56 km south of Zacatecas on the Zacatecas-Guadalajara highway. Far from the heart of Mesoamerica, it has been variously identified as the legendary Chicomoztoc, a Caxcan site, a Teotihuacan fortress or a Purépecha centre.
