Trail description

A climb towards the chest shaped rock that caps Cofre de Perote, one of the highest peaks in Mexico. The path rises through cool fir forest and then above the trees to the foot of the bare summit block at about 4,200 metres. About 3 km one way, with big views over the Gulf plains and across to the cone of Orizaba on a clear day.
