Trail description
A flat 1.8 km walk from Cobá village along Laguna Cobá into the archaeological zone, past the ball court, stelae and the Acrópolis group to an altar on Sacbé 4 near Lake Macanxoc. Cobá is an ancient Maya city at the centre of the largest network of stone causeways in the Maya world. Its many carved stelae record ceremonial life of the Late Classic period, 600-900 AD; the ruins lie 47 km north-west of Tulum.
