Cerro Macuiltépetl

Trail description

A 2.4 km walk of about 100 m of climbing on Macuiltepetl, the volcano and ecological park in the middle of Xalapa, at about 1,500 to 1,600 m. The Nahuatl name may mean fifth hill, and 19th-century plans show the hill with five summits, of which only two can still be made out. Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz, lies about 280 km east of Mexico City.
