Cerro de Guadalupe Puebla

Trail description

A 1.7 km walk with about 45 m of climbing through the Zona Histórica de los Fuertes on the Cerro de Guadalupe in Puebla, past the Fuerte de Loreto and the Victory monument and about 250 m from the Fuerte de Guadalupe, to the Museo Regional de Puebla. On 5 May 1862 French troops under Charles de Lorencez repeatedly failed to storm the forts of Loreto and Guadalupe on these hills and retreated to Orizaba. The fight is known as the Battle of Puebla or the Battle of Cinco de Mayo.
