Plokštinė Nature Trail

Trail description

This 3 km loop in Žemaitija National Park winds through the grounds of the former Soviet military base at Plokštinė and past the Pilelis spring, which never dries up in droughts or freezes in winter. The signposted route starts at an information board and runs on natural and compacted surfaces through hilly, biodiverse forest. The nearby Cold War Exhibition occupies one of the first Soviet underground ballistic missile launch sites.
