Trail description

One of the longest sections of the Lebanon Mountain Trail, this route climbs from the Bqaa Safrine guesthouse on agricultural roads through cypress and oak woods, then crosses thinly vegetated high plateau to the Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve and down into Ehden. It is about 23 km with over 1000 m of ascent, so it makes a long, hard day. Springs, scenic overlooks and the reserve are the highlights, but some springs can be dry late in the season. The high part is under snow all winter.
