Trail description

A trek from Lake Iri-Kol in the Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve via the Kuturma Pass (approx. 2450 m) to Lake Kara-Suu, also known as Karakamyš. The ascent goes through juniper forests and rocky terrain, offering views of Sary-Chelek and the Chatkal Range from the top; the descent to Kara-Suu is steep and stony in places. The distance is about 7-8 km one way, taking roughly half a day of hiking. This is a linear route, so transport from Kara-Suu should be arranged in advance. Best hiked in summer; there is an entrance fee for the nature reserve.
