Trail description
A 5.1 km climb of about 470 m from the edge of Ulytau village on tracks and a path to the summit of Akmeshit-Aulie, also called Aulietau, the highest point of the Ulytau massif at 1,131 m, in Ulytau National Park. The mountain is a place of pilgrimage: legend says that heaven and earth meet on its top, and that the philosopher Asan Kaigy is buried there. The archaeologist Alkey Margulan identified the ruins of a 42 by 42 m stone building on it, and since 2019 the complex has been a monument of national importance.
