Trail description
A 3.4 km walk on tracks and a path from the village of Kent to the ruins of the Kyzyl-Kent palace on the slopes of the Kent mountains in the Karkaraly district. The two-storey stone building, cross-shaped in plan with a central room of 11.5 by 12 m, dates from the 17th century. It is thought to have been a Buddhist monastery of the Khoshut Oirats, built when they dominated the Kazakh steppe.
