Trail description
From the Shin-Nakanoyu trailhead above Kamikochi the trail climbs through forest and onto the steaming upper slopes of Mount Yake, an active volcano, to its 2,444 m north peak. The higher south peak is closed to climbers, and access depends on the current volcanic alert level.
