Trail description

Sharidake, 1,547 m, is an old volcano at the base of the Shiretoko peninsula and one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, also called Okhotsk Fuji. This route climbs from the Kiyosato side on the north-west to the summit, where the town boundaries of Shari, Kiyosato and Shibetsu meet. The Ainu name Onne-nupuri means great or old mountain. The summit and slopes are protected as the Sharidake prefectural natural park.
