Trail description

Senjogatake, 3,033 m, is the northern end of the Akaishi range in Southern Alps National Park, called the queen of the Southern Alps for its gentle shape. This route climbs about 1,000 m from Kitazawa Pass over Kosenjo and past the Senjo hut to the summit, above three glacial cirques. It is one of Japan's 100 famous mountains and is famous for its alpine flowers. Private cars are not allowed to Kitazawa Pass: take the Minami Alps forest road bus, and check that the road is open before going.
