Trail description

Nishibetsudake, 800 m, is one of the volcanoes of the Mashu group in Shibecha, in Akan-Mashu National Park. This route climbs from the Nishibetsu hut on the east through Uguisu-dani larch forest, up the steep Gaman-zaka slope, past the junction for Risuke-yama and over Gokurakudaira to the summit. The ridge is open with few trees, so the views are wide.
